April 2015 – PIP Claims

As of the end of January 2015, there had been 607,700 clearances, of which around 35,300 were special rules claims for terminally ill people and 572,500 were normal rules claims. The majority of these were for new claims (536,600 of the total clearances) while just 71,100 were for reassessments from disability living allowance claims.

On average 16,000 claims were being cleared each month between November 2013 and May 2014, rising to an average of 75,000 per month between November 2014 and January 2015.
